Why I Choose to Believe the Bible

The majority of people throughout history believed in a God or gods–a supreme all powerful being who created. When we consider our marvelous bodies and the incredible world around us, common sense tells us there is some power greater than ourselves. It is not difficult for me to believe in a God who created mankind and the world. Therefore, it makes sense to me that if God created man and woman, he would give us instructions on how to live.
The Bible is the most widely printed book of all time (according to Guiness). It was written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses and they reported supernatural events in fulfillment of specific prophecies. As written by the apostle Peter in II Peter 1:16, “We did not follow cleverly invented stories when we told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.”
I am one person out of more than 7 billion people alive now and each one of us lives only a limited time. My knowledge has to be limited, but I choose to believe in God. In the Bible I believe God has given us what we need to know for life now and after I die.
